How to use dental handpieces correctly?

  • Use a clean, dry, oil-free medical air compressor.
  • Air pressure is between 2.3-2.8kgf/cm2.
  • Combine the quick connector with the connector at the bottom of the dental handpiece and make sure that it is fixed with the lock.
  • Press down the pedal and check if the dental handpiece is running and the head spray is working properly. If everything is normal, then you can start using the dental handpiece.

How to properly maintain the dental handpiece?

  • Remove the diamond grinding needle and clean all dental deposits on the dental handpiece.
  • Use a metal needle to clean the spray hole and the air jet hole.

Note: The spray hole is at a 40 degree angle to the diamond grinding needle, and the air jet hole is at a 30 degree angle to the diamond grinding needle.

  • Spray the cleaning lubricant into the shaft hole for 1-2 seconds (the diamond grinding needle has been inserted into the hole).
  • There are (with/without quick connector) 2 shapes at the bottom of the grinding handpiece respectively, please spray the right amount of lubricant into the bottom.
  • The grinding handpiece and quick connector combined (first make sure the water switch has been turned off).
  • Load the diamond sharpening needle and surround the head of the dental handpiece with white gauze (be sure that the diamond sharpening needle will not come into contact with the white gauze to avoid knotting).
  • Press the pedal for about 20 seconds and check if there is any stain on the white gauze. If there is any stain on the white gauze, add lubricant again and continue to do from the 4th item of daily maintenance until there is no stain on the white gauze.
  • The last with no more than 135 degrees Celsius for high temperature and high pressure sterilization.
